Wen-Chih is a Senior Landscape Architect at Balston Agius.
Wen-Chih joined the team during summer 2018. She studied Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh University, qualifying as a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute in 2016.
In the last 10 years, Wen-Chih has worked in several award-winning international design practices.
She previously worked with Macgregor Smith Landscape Architecture. During this time she gained a wide range of skills across all working stages: from feasibility study to hand-over of a project. Completed projects include: Marlow International, British Land Temporary Landscapes, and Sandford’s Terrace in Exeter. Some of her key contributions to the design team were on concept design, landscape strategy and masterplan planning. Her flair for contemporary design, artistic approach, and sustainable ideals helped to enhance designs. Another of her roles was to reinforce the relationships with clients and partnerships with contractors for projects in China. She also assisted with lectures on landscape architecture and urban design at Bath University Architecture School and supported junior staff on their Pathway to Chartership after achieving her CMLI qualification.
Wen-Chih also worked with GROSS. MAX. Landscape Architects and whilst there participated in several projects and competitions, including Tempelhof Park in Berlin (1st prize), CBD Central Park in Beijing (1st prize), and Shi Ling Park in Chengdu (800ha). During this period, she was involved in different design territories, from strategic masterplan planning to urban landscape design, from initial background research to final production package drawing. Her language skills helped to optimise the communication between the East and the West.
Valuable experience was also gained by Wen-Chih through a number of work placements: a one-year Landscape Architecture internship with GTL Landschaftsarchitekten, two summer placements with J.S.K. SIAT International, and a two-week winter placement with OBERMEYER Consulting Engineers.
