Garden Design in the Home Counties

Balston Agius designs private gardens and landscapes for houses and estates across the Home Counties and southern England — among them Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and Sussex — as well as Wiltshire, the Cotswolds and London.

The practice works on bespoke private gardens, country estates, historic and listed landscapes, and walled and kitchen gardens. Projects range in scale from a single garden room to the master planning of an entire estate, and typically encompass detailed design, planting schemes, specifications, working drawings and supervision of works on site.

Recent work in the region includes a private garden at Berkshire House in Berkshire, an Oxfordshire manor house, and the BALI award-winning Centenary Garden at Exbury Gardens in Hampshire.

The studio has been designing landscapes and gardens for more than thirty years, and its work is grounded in horticulture as much as design — an understanding of how a planting scheme will mature, and how a garden will be maintained, over decades rather than seasons.

The practice is based at Long Barn in Patney, Wiltshire, within easy reach of the Home Counties, with a second base in London. To discuss a project, please get in touch.
